This is Mike Brant. He was from the town of Haifa in Israel, the son of holocaust survivors, his real name was Moshe Brand. He only spoke Hebrew, but sang phonetically in French. In 1970 he became a huge star in France for this song Laisse moi t’aimer, which was just one of his amorous ballads I remember my parents slow dancing to.
In 1975, he died after throwing himself from the window of his hotel in Paris. His voice was and is legendary. He could be coined as the jewish Elvis. And possibly the most handsome man in the world.
